WHO: Tiny Mr. And Mr. Barton-Barnes
WHAT: Who are you? Wait, do I know you?
WHERE: Their room
WHEN: Waking up
RATING: Maybe some swears because these kids curse

It was pretty normal for Bucky to wake up with someone else in his bed. He and Steve had sleepovers a lot. It wasn't even hard for them to fit into his twin sized bed side by side because Steve was so small. Other times they'd take the sofa cushions and put them on the floor so they could build a sheet fort over them. That was fun too, but last night they'd stayed up late fallen asleep in Bucky's bed after making up scary stories to tell each other.

So when Bucky woke up, he thought nothing of the small body he was pressed into from behind. He was a little bony, but Bucky was used to that. He saw familiar blonde hair and smiled a little. "Stevie, wake up," he grumbled sleepily. "We gotta see if my mom will make us egg sandwiches that we can eat while we listen to the morning radio." He shifted and felt something heavy on his hand. Actually, his whole left arm was kind of sore. That was weird. He lifted his hand and found a ring on his finger that was way too big. "Huh?"

He then realized the bed was way, way too big. "What the.. Steve?" He pushed himself up and untangled himself from the boy beside him. The boy he realized was not Steve at all. "What the hell?" He didn't know where he was, but he there was this strange feeling of familiarity about it. And he felt the same feeling when he looked down at the boy in the bed.

They were just from different eras. Bucky really didn't have any problem with two guys being together. He thought anyone should be able to be with who they wanted to be. But he also knew plenty of stories about guys getting beat up in alleys for that kinda thing. He was aware enough to know that what he believed was not among the majority of people around him. But, he wasn't going to fret it that much because right now nothing made sense except that he really loved Clint and he really wanted to see more of the house. And now there were animals everywhere and only two of them actually looked like animals he'd seen before. A dog and a goat. And the goat had glasses on. The other three animals didn't even look real.

When Clint squeezed his hand Bucky's grin grew wider. He didn't know why. He just really liked how it felt to hold Clint's hand and the way he'd just squished it made it feel like Clint really liked him a lot. That felt good in his heart.

The sight of Clint with the dog was even better. Lucky. Yes, that was the dog's name. Bucky knew that, somehow. "Lucky likes the pizza," he said, and laughed. The pink dog-looking creature came wandering up to him and Bucky felt a little weird but something in him told him he could not act afraid or nervous or freak out. This dog-thing was his friend. When it started jabbering at him he raised his eyebrows, but then quickly set his expression back to a friendly one. "Hi," he said, and crouched enough to pet the top of her head. "Hi Kate." He didn't know where the name came from; he just knew it. He knew it was a nickname, too. The pink dog started jabbering more happily, which warmed his heart.

Yeah, the goat was wearing glasses and there was a weird turtle and a pink dog and some kind of weird sheep too, but Clint hadn't noticed them right away because it was pretty clear that he played favorites. Or maybe that Lucky was his and had been for a while. Either way, he pressed his face into the dog's fur and let Lucky's tail wag, wag, wag.

He laughed, something bright, and then looked up to find Bucky petting at a very pink dog that didn't look real but must have been anyway and frown. "Katherine," he corrected, seeing the way Bucky's mouth moved -- not long enough to be the right name. "And Nock," he said of the turtle. The sheep though, he couldn't seem to remember the sheep's name.

"We have pets," he said, excitedly. Clint had always wanted pets.

Something about how happy the dog made Clint, the sound of his laughter, the look on his face as he pressed it into the dog's fur... All of it just... It really just struck Bucky in the chest and made him feel so good. Full of love, full of happiness. It just was so fucking endearing and he just wanted to go hug Clint really badly right then. Hug him and maybe never let him go. That was such a huge revelation and he didn't really know what to do with it so he just hugged the pink dog instead and let it happily jabber nonsense at him. He had no idea what those sounds meant but since the dog looked happy he figured it was a good thing.

"We do have pets. A lot of pets," Bucky said. "I never had a pet before." He'd always wanted a dog or a cat or something but his mom had said the apartment was too small. Plus he didn't know for sure but he thought Steve would likely be allergic to any animal he got so he didn't think it was worth the risk. Much as he wanted to play with a dog at home, he wanted Steve to be able to come over more.

We gotta take care of them. I think they're our family, he signed to Clint.

Clint thought, maybe, he should be a little more worried about the unfolding puzzle that was going on here. Like he should be working to put it together a little faster because there was clearly a lot -- the two of them, him and Bucky, they'd apparently built this whole life that he didn't really understand or know about. Except he kind of understood and kind of knew. And that should have felt more confusing, and he should have wanted to look into it more but --

But it seemed fine. None of it was upsetting at all, and the more they explored the happier Clint was getting. So it didn't really seem all that important. He might as well just let himself be happy and figure things out as they came. So long as Bucky was with him.

Family, he repeated in sign, two f's in a wide circle.

Yeah. He agreed with that. It was exactly what they had here.
