We are working on the assignments, but we've just had a death in the family and are coping with the nearby wildfires, extreme heat, and the threat of blackouts in Southern California. Assignments will be slightly delayed, but we expect to get them all out by Wednesday.

We're coming down to the wire on signups for this year's exchange, so if you haven't signed up yet, hurry! If you have, thanks! Now, go tell all your flisters! *g*

We've had a few questions and requests for clarifications, so here are some answers and explanations:

1. The Sign Up Post is here. Please don't sign up on the rules post or anywhere else.

2. If you are requesting Gen only and do not want to specify any pairing, please provide at least three Gen prompts for fic and/or art, so your gifter will have a few ideas to play with.

3. For Slash and Het, please provide at least three different Snape pairings you are willing to receive AND willing to provide. "Snape/Umbridge, Umbridge/Snape, and Snape-Umbridge-friendship gen only" are not three different pairings. Be kind to your poor mods and pick three different pairings. If you really only want one Snape pairing, please provide at least two Snape gen prompts, or Snape-solo prompts, in addition.

Signups are "officially" closing at Midnight on Friday, August 28, but we're not going to pay attention to the date stamp; we'll just close them when we finally get online sometime Saturday, so feel free to sneak in under the wire, if that's what works for you!

Okay, here we are! It's a whole new year and we closed off the old one with some great fic and art. We definitely plan to hold [info]snapelyholidays again -- watch this space.

The exchange is over - oh noes! Here is the list of stories in posting order, and what a lovely mix we got for our inaugural exchange!

The reveals won't go up until Monday the 12th, so please consider spending Severus's birthday (or this weekend) re-reading your favourites, reading the ones you missed, and, if you haven't already, please take time to leave some feedback. The authors and artists will appreciate it! They may even come back next year and write more fic and draw more art. (!) A little encouragement & love go a long way. :)

MODDY NOTE We're sharing a little bit of the background drama that takes place on exchanges for this particular entry.  [info]cocoachristy had nearly finished her submission when her computer died.  It was not salvageable and neither was her story. :(  Given the circumstances and the supreme efforts she undertook to try and fix the computer and still submit her fic, we decided not to penalize her by giving her gift to a pinch-hitter.  Therefore, we have posted her gift and wish her the happiest of holidays, and sincerely hope she will consider taking part in next year's [info]snapelyholidays!

I really hate to make a post like this, but needs must.

Participants! Please look over your entries one more time.

  • Make sure everything is filled out.

  • Make sure you are providing the person who will receive your request at least three options to choose to write or draw. That three pairing option does not mean "up to three" but THREE.
    • (I won't quibble over those who provide more. More, in this case, makes things easier all around.)

  • Make sure to provide an email for the person you choose that can answer questions about your preferences.

    We're hoping for at least 30 entrants for [info]snapelyholidays first exchange. If there are more, super! If we are so profoundly blessed to have a huge number of entrants, then we'll probably put a cut-off point, but for now we'll be happy with at least 30.

    Yes, you can sign up to pinch-hit, we'll add your name to a list of possibles if needed.

    We know some of you have been holding off deciding because you wanted to see how it was going to be run. So to that end, we're posting some ground rules and a sign-up template for those wanting to take part so they can fill in their requests beforehand.

    Sign ups begin August 22nd.
