that was very intriguing. i also quite like the idea that lucius is the one fascinated by severus and not the other way round, and severus being the focus of his desire, although he is too young to understand it.

Fabulous! Love the idea of the mentorships, and that Lucius was the one to pick Severus. Wonderful characterizations for both of them, like this:

You're too tetchy. You let everyone know what you are feeling."

Severus' gaze snapped back to Lucius. He wasn't tetchy! It wasn't his fault that people treated him like he was stupid and he corrected them as scathingly as possible.

Absolutely pitch perfect! This is one of those fics where I'd love to read more, to see how they survive the year.

Squees more!

This is very intriguing. I love that Lucius picked Severus and the way Slytherins stick together against the prejudices of the outside world.

NIcely done!
Even though they were apparently uncooperative (LOL), the spark was still there. I can see their relationship blossoming later on, you've laid a good foundation here. :)

A very IC Severus; you capture so much what I'd imagine his youthful canon self was like: awkward and intelligent and driven and suspicious and, yes, tetchy /g/. Lucius is right -- Snape is "intriguing." I like the way you make Lucius's desire clear even though Severus doesn't understand.

This *so* reads like canon to me! I cannot imagine Slytherin not doing some sort of mentorship of younger students and I do think that Severus would fascinate Lucius--he is so totally different from what he was raised with and around; privileged pure-bloods who mostly did not have to strive very hard to succeed. I would gather that this brilliant, intense, competitive half-blood who was so versed in the dark arts was somewhat of a novelty to Lucius. Just as Lucius' beauty, elegance and culture would have been something that Severus would have coveted and found desirable.

You did such an excellent job at presenting Severus' character--his curiosity, the homework for pay (lol) and his shock when Lucius picked him was awesome. I love how well Lucius has studied him as well and calls him on it. This was such a fun little Slytherin fic!

I love your young Severus. This reads exactly as I would imagine him in his youth, and I want to both give him a hug and a smack on the head at the same time.

There is definitely a spark between them. I like the whole concept of the 3rd and 7th years paired up. Seems like something the Slytherins would do. Nice job.

I really enjoyed Severus thoughts as he waited to be picked and Lucius choosing him even though he is a half blood. Great insight into the little world of Slytherin.

(Sorry this took me so long, had a small personal crisis.)

Thank you so very much! I love everything about this story: your Severus is so nosy and himself already but still a child, and then Lucius chooses him, and the hinty hints at the end... OMG, I can't put it in words (but then you already did that, right? *g*), but I absolutely adore this. My mind is writing the sequel already. ;)
Thanks again, this is a wonderful gift!:-*
