Really? I see him as a starved and abused dog, a rejected loner in his youth, being hunted by a healthy, well-fed pack and snarling at them while trying to crawl away and crawling on its belly to please his abusive owner (Dumbledore) when grown up, only to be kicked down to 'learn his place' and to be put down when he has outlasted his usefulness.
