The September Challenge: Severus and Neville!

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Just in time for the new challenge, [info]alicekinsno1 made a suggestion for a new challenge.

I think it fits in with last month's theme and the one I'll post next month which will be Severus vs. Hermione and Ron. So here it is:

The October Challenge

Severus and Neville

[info]alicekinsno1 suggests: Severus' relationship to Neville, definitely. We see that he's often cruel to Neville, and then there's the fact that Neville could have been the one targeted by Voldemort- and this is one of the biggest issues with people who don't like Severus, since they think Lily is the only reason Severus agreed to turn good. So maybe get some people to discuss what they think Severus feels about Neville, and also, what he would have done if Neville had been targeted instead of Harry.

I don't think we ever went into that in detail here, except for a side-note here or there. So go ahead, tell us what you think, write meta, creative meta, make art.

Anonymous posters are welcome as long as they use a handle. Members, please start your own thread, others can post their entries here or in reply to one of the other posts. Participants will get banners (sometimes in the remote future, cough.)

Have fun!

This is pretty brief - basically a summary of some thoughts from a longer essay. I do think Severus is unfair, and, on a couple of occasions, even cruel to Neville. I don't, however, think this proves him a horrible person. What does it prove, then? Read more... )
