Announcing a few things

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Hello everybody,

I see with great pleasure that you all are still discussing our monthly challenges with fervour. There have been great and interesting discussions during the past months, I just wish I had more time to participate. But reading is fun, too.

A great part of last summer's fun were Torino's questions of the week. However, for the moment, these questions are on hiatus, Torino doesn't have the time at the moment. Which is ok. The questions will be back when she has more time.

Which brings me to the next part:

If you have something like 'Torino's Question of the Week' you'd like to post on a regular basis here, post or contact me and we'll get it going. Everyone can suggest new activities. This is your asylum, Underground!

Eventually, I'll get around to reshuffle the layout a bit. I need a few things more visible, and others pushed a bit further down. I need to get the summerfest summarized and all the links into a post instead of a side bar. I need time. Anyone got some to spare?

And there'll be a few new things, watch the next post.

Introducing Meta Art

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
You know creative meta already: a story, as canon compliant as possible, that deals with the topic of the monthly challenge.

Why not do that for art, too? If one of the monthly challenges inspires you to do art, go for it and post it here. Or post links if you rather want the discussion on your own journal.

While I'm at it: let me remind you that you can reply to the monthly challenges whenever you want, you don't have to do it in the month they are posted. You still can do meta for last year's December challenge if you want to. But: if you want a banner for that, you'll have to remind me.

ETA: creative art is a bit of an oxymoronredundant, I renamed it to meta art.

Introducing Fannish Magic

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Has it ever happened to you that you read a fanfic story and were interested in the way the author interprets an aspect of magic/ a character/ an item/ the potterverse? Did you want to pick that particular topic and discuss it, but without offending? Yes? Then here's the place to do it. But ONLY if the author gives permission, and ONLY if it is Snape-fanfic (of all ships and gen, but no shipping). I don't want a sporking site.
You understand of course that this is a means to circumvvent our self-imposed restrictions to Snape discussions. That way, if we have interesting examples, we can discuss everything and anything in the Potterverse if it comes up in Snape fic. Severus lives in that magical universe, and we want to explore it, don't we?

I'll start this with a seperate post, to give you an idea what I'm thinking about.

ETA: Permission is needed when you want to link and post an excerpt.
If you're shy, the author is hard to contact, has vanished or such, and you want to discuas the idea: paraphrase and don't link.
And: of course you can present ideas from your own stories, too.

I'm posting this today since I want to avoid confusion with the Friday Recs.
