Heh - I actually thought you were using Missy as his daughter's name or nickname. Not to date myself, but there was definitely some period not too far back when it wasn't uncommon to get 5 Melissas in every class hereabouts -- variously styled as Mel, MeLisa, Lissa, Lissy, Missy, etc., (and woe betide the teacher who didn't get them straight, since they are all Unique and Special snowflakes). I just figured this mellow music-loving Snape had married someone who loved cute muggle-ish names!

Of course, think of the decades of puling wizard kids Snape managed to transform into adults at Hogwarts - adults who could even brew potions safely. excepting the Weasley twins of course :D No greater transformation can there be!
