Not that this applied to Septima and Severus. She was all but glowing with happiness, making sure her left hand was visible at all times so everyone they met could see the glowing symbol of their commitment. Severus refrained from scowling at the Gryffindors – even they deserved a little joy, as tempted as he was to take a few points for being obnoxious in public – and gravely accepted congratulations from assorted Weasleys who’d returned to Hogsmeade for the day.
Then his least favorite former colleague emerged from a shop with a cheerful smile….
