Bonfire Night was the signal for the Hogsmeade Harvest Fest, which included a jumble sale at the town hall, games and sports, and sidewalk sales involving all the local shops (and a few from Diagon Alley that apparated in for the fun). It culminated with a traditional harvest dance on the Common, followed by a communal supper washed down with plenty of ale from The Three Broomsticks.
It was a fine time to show off one’s new fiancée, and be shown off in turn. Or so Severus thought as he and Septima strolled down the main street, arm in arm.
