The actual film proved to be a thriller – adult and dark, yes, but still a thriller – that depended as much on psychological horror as violence to achieve to its ends. The younger children undoubtedly would not have understood it – some of the Hufflepuffs and Gryffindors were heard questioning the Ravenclaws to find out exactly what had happened – but it was not nearly as disturbing as promised.
At least, until one sat down to grade, or do some needlework, and listen to the WWN, and found one’s self unable to concentrate on anything except the question of just what had happened….
