“Ah, yes. The Assembly.” Binns actually chuckled. “Pretending to an antiquity they have not as yet attained.”
“How so?” One of the Princes had been a member of the Medieval Assembly, or so Severus' mother had claimed. “They've existed for centuries.”
“Barely a century and a half,” Binns rumbled. “The current version is a Victorian-era revival of an entity that had dissolved during the Muggle Age of Enlightenment. The founders adopted the trappings of an ancient foundation, nothing more.”
“So I should decline the invitation?” said Severus.
“To the contrary. You most definitely should accept.”
