A huge, venerable eagle owl wearing a tiny surcoat of antique design, it waited gravely for Severus to unfasten its jesses and extract the hand-addressed envelope from a tooled morocco case before accepting its payment and flapping away.
Severus broke the seal depicting the Fawley arms and read the elegant script inviting him to the upcoming meeting of the Medieval Assembly of European Wizards. He considered it, carefully replaced the invitation in the envelope, and went directly to Professor Binns.
