Note: this is yet another Motherless Child drabble, wherein Snape and Lupin marry and adopt a young werewolf. Their son John is about 14 in this one.
Planning to take away the boy's phone during the full moon was a fine plan. It would have allowed Severus to get the phone to, say, Hermione or Nymphadora or someone else who would reprogram it to block certain sites (like Reddit), and after a few minutes' consideration Remus agreed.
The problem was that John, clever as he was, had figured out what his parents panned, then “locked” the phone with a numerical code to protect the contents. He'd then waited until he transformed, run straight past Remus while Moony recovered, and buried the damn thing under the compost heap.
