The problem with seeking a new position was that between the War, lingering resentment against his mere existence, and having only one full time job in his entire life, was that Severus did not have a particularly extensive work history. Mentioning his freelance work and summer positions he'd taken when young only made him look flighty, and that was before one considered that most wizards had never set foot in a Pizza Hut.
Worst of all was his need to conceal his intentions from his coworkers. None were stupid, most were surprisingly observant, and then there was the DADA teacher....
