“It's part of our history, like it or not,” said Lupin. He read over the letter again. “Between us we should be able to get through the thorns. I'm not especially bothered by the idea of the Gaunts.”
“And I'll tell your former wife and child that you died as you lived. A blithering idiot.” Severus made a rude noise. “There probably isn't enough left by now to restore, not that I see why anyone with a brain would want to go near the place.”
“Perhaps they wish it as an object lesson about poverty,” said Lupin.
