The telly in the corner came on, tuned to a Quidditch match. Potter set down his mug and turned to stare. “What do you mean, 'excuse me'?”
Severus mirrored the gesture. “Where did you get the idea Draco Malfoy is my godson?”
Potter blinked. “He isn't?”
“Of course not!” Severus hastily lowered his voice as the barkeep gave him a nasty look. “I'm the son of a Muggle drunk and a disowned gobstones champion. In what way does that qualify me to be Draco Malfoy's godfather?”
“But – everyone - “
“Everyone is a dunderhead,” Severus snapped.
