The clock did come with an expansion pack and the instructions for adding hands for family members, business associates, and close friends. Severus had done so with Minerva and the current Slythern prefects, so adding Remus Lupin would not have been difficult.
Whether it was necessary, or desirable, or the man himself would even agree...that was another matter entirely. His relationship with Lupin was something he had never dared imagine, and asking the man if he would mind being added to Severus' personal clock might be going too far, too fast for Lupin to tolerate.
