Severus gagged as he stepped out of the Floo. Smoke and the stench of burnt oil billowed out of the kitchen, and the air reeked of fried onions. What sounded like very, very profane French was punctuated by a book repeatedly slamming shut.
“What the - “ Severus automatically cast a purification charm and held his breath as the air cleared. “Lupin? What is going on?”
Remus, hair liberally daubed with potato shreds, emerged from the kitchen. “Experimenting with recipes for those latke things you like so much. It's not going well.”
“I never would have guessed,” said Severus.
