"Daddy! Papa! It's snowing!" John, jumping up and down hard enough to make the bedside table shake, pointed wildly out the window. "Can I make a snowman? Can I? Please?"

Severus came awake with what might have been a yelp. "What? Don't be - "

"Johnny, calm down," said Remus, clambering out of bed. "You know your dad doesn't like loud noises first thing in the morning."

"Sorry, Dad! But it's snowing!"

Severus glared at them through his hair. "It's October 28th. Don't be ridiculous."

Remus firmly steered John to the window and peered through the curtain.

"Severus? He's right."
