There was quite a bit of squalling, and Poppy had to be summoned when Severus bit Filius on the thumb, but eventually all was in readiness. The Astronomy Tower was cleared, a circle chalked out, and as the veil between the years thinned, Minerva plunked the kitten down in the center, stepped to the east, and began to cast.
Soon Remus, in the south, took up the chant, and then Poppy, who would ensure that Severus came back healthy. Last was Filius, who would direct the restoration charm.
The sun set. Moonlight flooded the Tower.
A cat yowled.
"Oh, bugger!"
