"You are quite certain that this information is correct?'' Dumbledore peered over his half-glasses at Severus. "The Slytherin boys' dorms are thoroughly soundproofed, or so the castle informs me."
"I have my sources," said Severus. He kept his mental shields up; the infection from destroying the horcrux had so far been confined to Dumbledore's hand, but he was taking no chances. One slip when confronting the Dark Lord and Zabini's life was worthless.
"Indeed," murmured the Headmaster. He closed his eyes for the merest instant. "Please convey my thanks to your new friend. His work is greatly appreciated."
