Note: this is a Motherless Child story, set soon after Severus and Remus have become lovers in the fall of 2001.
Remus blinked at the platter of - what exactly was it? "Severus? Um - "
"Jellied rabbit," said Severus from the stove. Remus had to force himself to swallow at the sight of what likely began as a green vegetable of some sort rose dripping from the pot and deposited itself into a serving dish. "One of Mum's staples. It took some persuasion for her to learn the recipe since rabbit is treyf. I thought you'd like it because Moony caught a rabbit last month."
Remus wasn't sure what "treyf" was, but this neither looked or smelled promising. "I see."
