The royal wedding party ended with a champagne toast. Fortunately Potter had somehow acquired decent taste in wine, so it was a pleasure to drink the happy couple's health instead of a chore to be endured. John was allowed one very small glass, which he promptly pronounced "nasty," before the Snape-Lupins made their farewells and Floo'd home.

Severus was already in bed when Remus, humming Crown Imperial, climbed in beside him. "Is he asleep?"

"Oh, yes. The champagne knocked him right out." Remus yawned extravagantly. "He's not the only one."

Severus smiled into the dark. "Good night, Remus."

"'Night, love."
