"Hullo, Severus." Lupin, child safely tucked upstairs with the hotel babysitting service, raised his complimentary glass of local beer as they stood next to the welcome reception buffet table. "You're looking well."

Severus made a face at the collection of meats, pickled vegetables, and mustards. He definitely would eat out tonight. "I am not here to discuss my health. Minerva asked me to familiarize myself with Baroque Wizarding culture."

"I see." Lupin raised an eyebrow at a particularly gelid heap of sauerkraut. "It's an interest of mine as well. Perhaps we can compare notes."

"I doubt it," said Severus, scowling.
