The shortbread was excellent, as always. It washed down nicely with an aged single malt. And when someone began waxing nostalgic about the Young Pretender and singing ballads about The '45, manners dictated that he join in.

It was but vaguely surprising when singing lead to flirting, and flirting lead to more. When he woke the next morning in a room with tartan upholstery and thistle carving on the bed, and a warm, experienced woman in his arms, it was no surprise at all.

If only he could figure out a way to do this more than once a year!
