Bagpipes skirled as three house elves staggered up to the Head Table bearing a large, grayish object. Minerva McGonagall, beaming in a way that was only somewhat less annoying than her predecessor's infamous twinkle, stood poised with carving implements. Her tartan robes seemed to glow slightly in the candlelight.

Her deputy head, who would have requested a second snake bite to the throat rather than wear tartan, sat glaring at the piper. It was bad enough that Minerva enjoyed haggis, but inflicting it on the rest of the school?
