"I am sorry about your wife," said Severus as he took his place in the chair.
Phil stiffened. "She made her choice. Wish she'd given more warning, but there's no help for it." He turned on the water.
"Lean back. Usual pre-school trim?"
"Yes." Severus remained silent as his cousin washed and combed out his hair. He watched as Phil began snipping at the split ends. "How's Brian?"
The hand with the scissors remained steady. "Misses his mum, but that's to be expected." Phil swished a comb through disinfectant and combed out an individual lock. "Thanks for asking."
