Snape managed to mask his relief when the chime sounded and Bruno Schmidt trotted to the next table. His replacement was a middle aged woman in hairy tweed robes.

"Madam," he said, bowing as she took her place. "Severus Snape, former teacher at Hogwarts."

She laughed, displaying somewhat horsy teeth. "Oh, I know you! My son Rolf was in your NEWTS class. Said you were a holy terror!"

"Rolf?" He frowned.

"Rolf Scamander." She thrust out a calloused hand. "Porpentia Scamader. Newt and I are trying to spice up our lives with a little piece on the side - "
