Severus checked the hem of his robes for any sign of dust as they floated from the wardrobe. He had already pulled his shirt sleeves down, making sure they were exactly a half-inch below his jacket sleeves. He looked critically in the mirror to ensure that every seam was straight and every button aligned. It was a ritual that he performed before leaving his quarters each morning, before he left his classroom for lunch and dinner. He checked his reflection in every mirror and opaque window he passed throughout his long days.
