Author's note: Written for the Monday Fun challenge. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I ended up writing for my own prompt, which was A night of fright is no delight. *shrugs, grins*
Summary: Draco is terrified of a crazed killer, giving Harry a chance to be a noble and brave Gryffindor.
There was a killer loose in the dark woods, and Draco was terrified. His mouth was so dry, he could barely swallow, and his heart was beating so hard he feared it would burst from his chest. His eyes were wide and nervous, and he peered anxiously into the blackness in an effort to see where the attack would come from. And Draco knew it was coming. There could be no doubt. Already, he had seen the mutilated bodies of the killer's earlier, unfortunate victims. He had never seen so much blood in his life, and he had nearly gagged.
Now, he was breathing in shallow pants, and his entire body was trembling in fear. He thought he heard a twig snap, and his heart nearly stuttered to a standstill. He froze in dreadful anticipation...one heartbeat...two...thinking it had been nothing, Draco relaxed.
Suddenly, the crazed killer leapt from the bushes ahead, and Draco screamed bloody murder and jumped into Harry's lap.
Harry lost his grip on his popcorn, and it spilled all over the floor, but his consolation was that he now had an armful of trembling, clingy blond whose main goal seemed to be crawling inside his clothing with him. Draco had his face tucked firmly against Harry's neck, and his horrified whimpers nearly drowned out the onscreen screams. Harry wrapped his arms around his quivering boyfriend and stroked his hair soothingly.
Grinning in delight, Harry turned back to the telly. Merlin, but he loved Fright Night!
Sorry, faith1922, but you're the only one I can think to tag off the top of my head. For a prompt, use Don't say goodnight. Say you're going to stay forever from the song "High Enough" by Damn Yankees. Have fun!
