Beta: The amazing silentauror
A/N: This is written for the slythindor100 Challenge #26 quote "This isn't what you think it is." Unfortunately, it got a tad wordy for a drabble. Special thanks to silentauror whose skill, knowledge and ability to put up with me is making me a better writer. And for pervy_fairy whose friendship and unaltering faith in my ability to write keeps me going.
"Harry," Draco whined. "This isn't what you think it is!"
"Really, Draco," snapped Harry. "Because from my angle it looks pretty obvious. Exactly which part is not what it looks like? The part where I come home from three days of surveillance bullshit to find you on the sofa wrapped around Pansy Fucking Parkinson? Or the part where you swore to me you would never cheat on me, because frankly Draco, I'm a little confused."
From the corner of his eye, Harry saw Pansy's mouth hanging open, and the sight made him angrier than ever. How could she act so shocked? Didn't they know he would be upset about this? "Oh, for fuck's sake, Parkinson! Shut your mouth, you look like a fish gasping for air," he screamed.
"Harry," whispered Pansy. "It's really not what you think. Theo hit me last night and I came here because Draco was the only person I could think of who would protect me and not tell me I deserved it. We talked for most of the night about what I should do, and apparently we fell asleep."
Harry saw the tears in her eyes and heard the fear in her voice as he knelt down in front of her. He lowered his face as he mumbled, "Shit, I'm sorry Pansy. Did he hurt you badly; has he done this before?" Her silence was his answer. Harry was afraid to look at Draco and see the hurt and anger he knew would be on his face
Suddenly, Harry felt Draco's hand under his chin, lifting him until he met Draco's eyes. Harry was astonished to see love along with the hint of anger in those eyes. "Potter, I will not cheat on you, especially with Pansy. Not into women, remember? But if you ever accuse me of cheating again, I will pack and walk out the door," Draco warned.
Pansy stood and pushed Harry into her vacated seat next to Draco. "Why don't you two talk or something while I use the loo," she said quietly. She stopped and a look ghosted across her face. Harry wondered if she was remembering the time before her arguments with Theo became so violent.
As he leaned into Draco, Harry captured his mouth with a gentle kiss. Their tongues slowly twisted and mapped out each other's mouth, as the kiss deepened. He felt Draco melt into the kiss and heard him moaning softly as Harry raised his hand to stroke his soft blond hair. Before long the need for air became a priority. As Draco leaned back, he gently touched Harry's cheek. "Trust is still a big problem for you, Harry. You have to trust me or we have nothing."
"I know," said Harry softly. "My heart trusts you, but my irrational head forgets sometimes."
"You need to work on remembering," Draco said seriously. "I won't spend my life afraid you are going to accuse me of cheating any time I try to help a friend."
Hearing the sadness in Draco's voice, Harry resolved to himself to try to remember to think before speaking. He knew Draco loved him and that love was the one thing he depended on every day. He lowered his head to Draco's shoulder and took a deep breath before he spoke. "Draco, your love means more to me than anything else in the world. Not a day goes by when I don't thank Merlin that we managed to find each other. When I saw Pansy wrapped in your arms, in the arms that I need only to be wrapped around me that way, I snapped. I'm sorry I didn't take a minute to find out what was happening before I started screaming." He knew he had been forgiven when he felt the tension slide from Draco's body.
Pansy came back into the room. "Draco, Harry, I'm going to leave you two alone. I need to go and see my solicitor before I go back to the house." She looked tired and scared. It was the first time Harry could ever remember Pansy being so unsure and almost timid.
"Pansy, would you like us to go with you to the house when you have finished with the solicitor?" Draco asked.
"I don't want to cause any problems," she replied softly.
Harry stood up and walked to Pansy's side. "You did not cause any problems here, Pansy. My irrational side kicked into full gear and took my brain along for the ride earlier. If you want both of us or if you just want Draco to go with you, you only need to ask. That's what friends do for each other."
Pansy smiled briefly and said "Well then, I'd feel so much better if you both came with me. I am a little nervous about running into Theo at the house."
"Then it's settled." Draco smiled. "Floo call us when you are ready to go and we will join you."
Draco walked Pansy to the fireplace and waited until she had left.
Draco walked back to Harry and winked. "Now, about that irrational head of yours," drawled Draco as he unzipped Harry's trousers...
