First of all, I would be totally fine with starting from scratch and coming up with a new Andrew shaped character for the right line. The old versions of my Andrew character (there are two, actually) are pretty different, however, and I like each of them for different reasons.
The first is a wealthy businessman with no family ties and not much of a private life. On the plus side, he is well-balanced, stable, well-off, well-read and educated. On the downside, doesn't have a whole lot of experience in terms of relationships and family life since he has always been too busy or distracted by work. And, depending on the line, he can be either closeted gay, or played with little to no previous homosexual experiences.
The second version is the exact opposite - an outgoing and upbeat jeweler who adores kids, big families and family life in general. He's really sweet and kind to a fault (he's been at a commun for a while and actually agreed to marry a woman to help her with greencard issues - which is not a detail we would have to keep as part of his history, should you actually want to play against him).
