Trying again for this line as I'm not having much luck despite how much I would LOVE to play this out. The muse has been itching!
A take essentially on Hamlet! ABO style! (can be modified without it too easy enough).
Premise!: There are two neighboring kingdoms. One kingdom values brute strength and their people are known to be warriors. The other kingdom values cunning and elegance and are built on wealth and class. The two Kingdom's have been toeing the line of war as the kingdom of strength wants to overtake the kingdom of wealth for their own greed and hunger for power.
Character A is the only Alpha son to the King and the next in line to the throne of the largest and wealthiest Kingdom of the Coast. Well, A's jealous Uncle wants him out of the way and starts to plot as such so that his son can have the chance to step up and be next at the throne as the only surviving Alpha male of the family. Seeing his opportunity, but definitely smart enough to keep his hands clean, the jealous Uncle hires someone to poison A then make his death look like some kind of accident. But the spell/potion/magic (whatever) fucks up and rather than killing him, it changes him into an Omega unbeknownest to A yet.
Once the hired hand realize they gave him the wrong one or it didn't work as intended, they panic and essentially hand A over to the enemy kingdom to gain favor with their King knowing that A's uncle would likely kill them for screwing up. So they're basically saving their own ass as well as setting things into motion for the rest of the line. So A is now in the company of his rival, B, who is put in charge of A per orders of his father. Or maybe the King was away so A is handed over to the Prince (B) instead who at first see's it as a great advantage having their enemy's son in his possession as leverage until the word of suspicion about his Uncle gets out. Neither of them want A's prince's family member on the throne (maybe his ideals are whack idk up for discussion), so in the end they have to work together to expose his treachery as well as doing their best to navigate their courts while not knowing who they can trust and who they can't.
Basically, they have to trust each other but things are obviously tense between them as not only has A been taken from his homeland and is in an entirely new environment away from home and all he knows, but now he has to deal with all these new changes his body starts to go through as well. We can definitely spice it up and have it that A could go into his first heat around B which could make for some fun scenes as he wouldn't know what was wrong with him until it happened. I'm sure B would be just as confused as while mostly strangers, B had known A to be an Alpha.
Then it would be a lot of the acceptance for A too being an Omega now because Omegas have very little power/rule so he's essentially lost to the throne anyways after spending all this time with B guy trying to get back home. Hurt and Comfort could certainly come into play or throwing more wrenches at our guys that they end up being bonded mates when the need gets to be too much for them both.
I just watched Troy too and love that respect/rivalry between Hector and Achilles. Looking for something kind of like that. I'd love to be A but I can be B.
Not picky on Faces.
TLDR: Jealous uncle/relative wants A out of the way so his son has a seat at the throne and hires someone to poison him. Hired hand realizes it's the wrong one/didn't work with more of an adverse effect than any of them could have planned for, hands A over to B to save his own ass from jealous uncle/relative finding out, so A is stuck living with B at his kingdom until they figure things out and realize the corruption. Meanwhile they're fighting a growing attraction to each other.
