Food Post! what you'll bring, cook, need

[info]venturous
Leave me a comment with details on the following:

What would you like to cook/eat?

What will you bring with you?
 --ingredients
 - prepared food

What groceries do you need in-house?  (eg: soy milk, quails eggs, baking chocolate, truffles, basmati rice, peanut m&ms...)

Wine drinker? Red or white?

For fish eaters: grilled salmon?

I will make a Costco and Trader Joes run on Thursday or friday.
Due to pitifully low income, if you would care to make a donation to the Holy Unpredictable Manor food & fun Fund, consider donating $25 or more dollars to paypal.  email p_henkel AT patrise.com

Planning for food

[info]venturous
SHOPPING
good news is that Rana (LBB) gets employee discount at Trader Joe's the best lace to get wine, cheese, frozen things, snacks, chocolate...

ABOUT FUNDING: when running artist's trips in France, we use the Kitty system: everyone throws in some cash and we have a house fund. This simplifies things. Do you think you can donate say, $25, or $30 to the food+drink kitty? non-drinkers, perhaps less. ;-)

so let's do a little pre-planning, and we will load up Friday night after I get her at the airport!

We need a low sodium, seafood + veggie menu, and here are some suggestions that might work:

MAIN MEALS
  1. black bean chili and cornbread  - my specialty!
  2. grilled salmon & roasted veggies -- another house favorite
  3. shrimp primavera/alfredo -- LBB claims to make a light version!
  4. veggie lasagna-- someone volunteered to make this-- Tor?
BRFST & LUNCH
  • eggs, toast and veggie brfst sausage
  • pancakes! with blueberries
  • pita bread and tuna, hummus, cheese and veggies
  • chili & stuff, salad

WINE and other beverages
I drink copious amounts of cheap French and Chilean red.
Coffee, tea will be on hand, and diet coke.

what else? sparkely water? soda? firewhisky? beer? let me know.

SWEETS

aside from (medicinal!) chocolate, what kind of desserts?
Iulia, did you not offer to make pie?  (channels Homer Simpson: "mmmmm, piie"
