Lots of ifs here, but IF it were the weekend of the 17-18, and if I know sufficiently in advance, then I could come down by train from Chicago, since I'll be in that area after a conference in Madison Oct 8-12. There's an exhibit at the Smithsonian that I really kinda need to see before it closes in Jan 2010.
(Does this sound wack or what? But seriously, living in the West for me means distances of several hundred miles are sort of normal travel. But I don't get very far east very often. Will be in Pittsburgh at my "other conference" in November, and that's about it for the decade foreseeable future. :-)
Okay, I'm stretching - but I would SO LOVE to come. Last year's made me deep dark Bellatrix green with envy. I can't contribute any proficiency in drawing or ficcing - but I love to hear about it and talk about it! My only skilz in fandom are reading, reccing, betaing, and being a PITA meta writer. ;-) But I'm up for anyfing! I love film (teach it a bit) and of course I would bring knitting, lol. More Harry-Potter-themed bags! If anyone wanted to knit one, I could totally show how. But given the preference so far for the earlier weekend, I'll just think wistfully of y'all while I am doing academic environmental studies stuff in wisconsin.
