Allison Young (Cameron Baum)

Terry again, with Allison Young from Palmdale, a new ballerina with the New York Civic Ballet company. If you get close to her, you might get her to admit that Allison is just a stage name - her real name is Cameron Baum (no relation).

Truth is, both names are false. Cameron was built in 2027, an upgraded T888 model Terminator infiltration unit. Her coltan endoskeleton is stronger, faster, and harder to destroy than the older T800s as portrayed by the Governator. Her biological outer covering, DNA courtesy of a resistance fighter named Allison Young, will rapidly regenerate if damaged, and will let her pass as human even in an 'intimate' situation. And she still has her full combat programming loaded.

Reprogrammed by John Connor, the head of the resistance, she was sent to 1999 to protect himself as a teenager and help prevent the startup of Skynet - the AI network that had begun 'deleting' humans in the future. With her CPU left in learn mode for the two years of her mission, Cameron began to question herself, and what exactly makes a person. Finally, heavily damaged, she gave up her main chip to another T888 so he could jump into the future with John Conner. The last thing Cameron remembers is deactivating herself in an act of self-sacrifice.

A couple of months ago, Cameron found herself repaired and reactivated in 1964. She was able to use the resources of a temporal engineer who had jumped to 1963 to set herself up with an identity and a small apartment. She had taken ballet lessons as part of her cover with John Conner, and with her robot physique had no trouble getting a job with the Civic Ballet. She has done well, and is now the understudy to the prima in Harlequinade, the latest production, as well as regular work as a cast dancer. Balanchine likes the way she concentrates on her dancing.

Since she doesn't need much sleep to keep up her biological side, Cameron has begun to slip out at night and explore this New York. Her original mission parameters are still active: Protect John Connor - who won't be born for about 20 years, and prevent the startup of Skynet. Since computers in 1964 are room-sized, she will have to be patient. She may - she doesn't know for sure - have additional programing in the part of the read-only memory she can't access. She doesn't know why she was brought to New York. All she can do is try to maintain her cover identity, and possibly explore the differences between a made person and a born one.

simiangrudge on AIM, open to just about any sort of plottage. Give me a ping if you catch me online. I could see her getting involved with some of the glitterati, or with one of the crime-fighting groups.
