greetings!
Hello, folks! I'm Alice, I'm a brand new member and excited to be here. I'm bringing you Homura from the anime Puella Magi Madoka Magica - if you're at all an anime fan, and especially if you like the magical girl genre, you should absolutely think of taking it in, it's a deconstruction of a lot of the tropes that surround things like Sailor Moon. Without going into too much detail -- or giving out too many spoilers -- Homura is a magical girl, who fights beings called witches using magic, an awful lot of guns and heavy weaponry, and abilities that let her stop time for brief periods. Magical girls (yes, they're legit a group, they're really called that) in her reality lead violent, dangerous lives, although it's often sugar-coated with ideas about justice and hope.

She's only about fourteen or fifteen, from Not Too Distant Future, Japan, so she'll be really out of her element here in 1960's America, something I look forward to playing out! To most observers, Homura is cold and aloof, a bit cruel and overwhelmingly motivated by determination, but since her ~objective doesn't even exist in Manhattan in this century, she's going to be pretty shaken up.

AS A CAVEAT, if you actually are interested in watching this show, please let me know if I should avoid spoilers around you - since Homura is set up as a very ~mysterious character for most of the story, and a lot of things I reveal about her in her profile, and that will sometimes come out in play are going to spoil a good deal of her background, motivations, and powers. So just ping me here or on my journal and let me know to avoid spoilers if we tag together!

You can reach me on AIM, at ay ay ay alicia, or comment on my journal's dropbox post!
