Terry again, bringing in Susan Sto Helit from the Discworld novels by Terry Pratchett.
Susan is the granddaughter of Death. A picture of her with her grandfather is here, on her profile. Her mother was Death's adopted daughter, her father Death's former apprentice. But Susan was conceived and born as part of Death's realm. She seems to have inherited some things from her grandfather, and is gradually coming to terms with the fact the she is a part of the supernatural world - she just wishes she wasn't.
She is also the Duchess Sto Helit, a job she pays people to take care of for her. What she prefers to be is a teacher at the Ankh-Morpork School for Children, although she has been a private governess in the past. She has always preferred that her students call her Miss Susan.
She was taking a vacation holiday to visit her grandfather, and is most perturbed to find herself in 1964 New York, and even more irritating for someone who generally has a mastery of time and space, is unable to leave for some reason, or even to contact her grandfather, Binky his horse, or Death of Rats, a frequent companion. So she'll be looking to meet people and see if she can find out what's going on.
