If Light was going to learn anything beyond the snippets of conversation he had managed to overhear, he'd have to strike one up for himself. It was a less-than-desirable necessity, but he didn't see what choice he had. He meandered around until he spotted a woman - a pregnant woman - sitting and watching the crowd. It seemed like a safe opportunity. Pregnant as she was, she would probably assume that he was being nothing but amiable - after all, what eighteen-year-old would hit on a pregnant woman? Light certainly wouldn't dream of it; women were irrational enough without the added hormones. He couldn't even imagine a pregnant Misa.
He strolled over to her, giving her a friendly smile. "May I sit here?" he asked politely, indicating a seat that was a respectable distance away from her, but still close enough to hold a conversation.
