Cameron felt she had done well enough in the race, all things considered. Even with the Jaguar racing motor her mechanic had installed, her little Austin-Healey 3000 didn't have the horsepower to run the straightaways with the more powerful cars. And there just hadn't been enough corners for the nimbleness of her car or her driving ability to make that much of a difference.
Still, she'd been seen by enough people that if she did have a contact here somewhere, they certainly would have been able to notice her. She had parked her car after the race, freshened her makeup and begun wandering around the site. She signed the occasional autograph as Allison Young, knowing the ballet company would just see her racing as a dancer's publicity stunt - which it was, but not for the reason they might think - and posed for a few photographs by the press and racing fans.
