For a second, pride clamored for attention in Sungmin's head and locked his muscles in place. He wasn't used to needing help like this, and it'd already taken a lot of him to be able to ask for language help when he'd first arrived in the States. Accepting money from a near-stranger was too close to being a charity case.
But it wasn't like he had any other options at the moment, so his hesitation faded quickly.
"Thank you," he said, words stiff but sincere. "I've got a hotel room, but I don't think it will last long." He shook his head. "I definitely can't afford extra beer anymore."
He was tempted to press Locke on how he had gotten his money, but given that he was a treasure hunter by trade, he probably used methods that were beyond Sungmin's skill set.
"I guess you've been getting by okay," he said instead, somewhat lamely.
