Sungmin had to smile back; Locke's enthusiasm was, while still a little perplexing (mostly just because 'treasure hunting' just sounded so piratey), hard to ignore. And truthfully, he was glad for the company. After so many days with barely any contact with other people, having an actual conversation that didn't revolve around him trying to purchase something or get directions somewhere was a rarity.
"I used to study politics," he said. "I'm taking a break from that right now, though."
That decision had been made before he'd gotten stuck here, though being stranded in the wrong era had certainly helped his academic hiatus.
"My dad's a politician, but it doesn't interest me like it did before. And," Sungmin paused, knowing that admitting his temporal displacement was likely to scare Locke off, "...well, I'm not sure I fit in. How did you end up in treasure hunting?"
As if it was a legit job. Still, it probably was more interesting that politics or at least made for more interesting stories.
