Who: Wash and Kaylee
What: He ain't so alone as he thought
When: Saturday morning
Where: A used-car lot in Brooklyn
Rating: Low, probably
Status: In-progress

Five days. Nearly a week of wandering aimlessly, eating food what wasn't packaged on some no-name moon and made of some sort of animal that may or may not have been a cow, sleeping in a bed with no cocoa-skinned Amazon to keep him company, and getting accustomed to all manner of things that simply didn't exist in his view of the 'Verse. The folk he could get used to, the technology was something of a challenge, but the bright open sky and having his feet stuck on this rock was almost too much. That and no Zoe. The no-Zoe thing was probably his biggest problem, but there was not much he could do about that.

Wash had yet to try actually driving an automobile, but it didn't look that hard. He'd ridden in bright yellow taxis on a few occasions, so he at least had most of the controls figured out. They weren't so different from the new Mule back on Serenity, though that thing could hover.

There was a sales-lot down the block from where he was staying, and he liked to go look at the vehicles. They didn't fly, that was a shame, but something about the sleek mechanics and shiny colors was comforting. Maybe today he'd work up the nerve to ask to drive one. And then maybe accidentally kill everyone by running into a building.
