"The city and the displacement are not only what I meant when I said that this isn't right," Remus said, his hands flat on his sprawled menu, himself leaning forward a little. His years had returned, visible under his eyes, the state of his hair and the color of his lips but it was nothing that he could help. "I had also meant Ginny and Albus. Their arrival," he said quickly to supplement his thoughts. He could feel the stress even with the way that he gripped the menu on the table.

But even Lily was...becoming less calm, which was an effort in itself and if Remus didn't watch himself then something...unpleasant, for the lack of a better word, might come of this evening affair. The wizard sighed as he forced himself to loosen up a little, pulling himself to rest his weight against the back of his seat. He'd lifted his hands, intending to run them through his face but as that might send a message of unrest, he dropped them the moment he realized what he was doing.

"If you can hear me out, Lily, I would appreciate it greatly," he began again as he looked up to her eyes. "But...I just..." he licked his lips from the inside, "...I just really want you to be careful, Lily. Be careful, be wary, be cautious around..." 'these people', he meant to say, but he was worried that that was going to set her off. So, "Around." he said to conclude what he wanted to say. "These are uncertain times. It would not do for us to be unguarded so easily..." The way the Potters apparently were, when Voldemort had killed them in the future. Remus didn't want that happening...anytime.
