Remus breathed carefully as he flicked his tongue through his lips and thought. He thought, thought, thought...
"Not the same as you do," he said honestly, in a quiet voice as though it would bother the next table and in his face, it was clear that he wished that wasn't so. His brows were wrinkled and there was something akin to disappointment or maybe even sadness in his light frown. "I wish I can say that I enjoy their company," he shook his head, "but I can't. I just can't..."
The waiter had returned with the sun on the smile on his face, "We ready?"
"Give us two cups of tea, please," Remus said automatically as he turned and looked at the chubby man whose expression had somehow become confused by his instruction. "That will be good for now."
"We don't serve tea."
"Whatever, then." Of course, he could have just decided on coffee but right then, he just really wanted the man to go away.
The waiter must have felt it, so he excused himself and strutted away.
Remus let out a quiet sigh as he returned to his friend before him. "I'm sorry...but I just cannot shake the feeling that something isn't right. This can't be right."
