Tony Stark ([info]sansiron) wrote in [info]silverage,

Who: Iron Man and OPEN
What: Out and about saving people and destroying property!
When: Sunday afternoon. (How else do you spend your Labor Day Weekend?)
Where: East Village
Warnings: None!

Realistically, Tony Stark knew the only reason he got away with half the things he got away with was because he has money. Lots of it. Enough to pay to fix anything he destroyed during his 'playboy shenanigans' (the police commissioner's words, not his). But as much as people complained, sighed, and rolled their eyes when they realised that Tony was testing some new invention and using the skies over New York City as his testing site, no one ever seemed to complain when that invention saved them from one of the many unsavory people or creatures wandering through the streets. When you were being mugged at gunpoint, a man showing up to save you --even if he was dressed in an odd looking iron suit-- was a blessing, not something to be snipped about.

In most cases, at least.

"You're welcome," Tony shouted to the woman in furs running back down an alley she'd had absolutely no business in in the first place, complaining about city riffraff.

The pause for his pithy remark was costly Tony discovered as a vibration ran through the suit. He turned back around, hand up and palm forward. The repulsor glowed and pulsed, ready to shoot out at the thug with the gun in front of him. He glanced down quickly, noting the scratch in the armor, but had to look up when the gun went off again. The repulsor fired as soon as the bullet hit his chest armor and the mugger went down like a stone. Unfortunately, so did part of an overhanging fire escape.

Tony watched as it fell. "Note to self: Adjust repulsor spread. That was... let's be generous and all it 'wide'. And find out who owns this building."
