Who: Zack Fair and OPEN When: Friday morning Where: A sidewalk somewhere in the city What: Zack should never be left to his own devices. Rating: Safe for all ages. Status: Open, in progress
Angeal hadn't called Zack fair a puppy without good reason. The elder SOLDIER would have shaken his head at the sight his young former pupil made out on the sidewalk. Zack had showered that morning, and his hair was soaked, but already sticking out in every direction as it was wont to do. Zack himself wasn't helping the picture, striding down the sidewalk with a big grin on his face and a genial "hello" for anyone who passed by and met his eyes. It happened a lot, actually, people meeting his eyes. None of them looked too startled, so he felt fairly confident none of them were properly noticing, in the bright morning light, that his eyes weren't just bluer than normal, but actually glowed.
This morning, Zack was on his way to the home of a widow who'd hired him for a few odd jobs not long after his arrival in New York. Although he'd been meaning to move in and start work with Cloud for a few weeks now, he hadn't gotten around to it just yet. He'd gotten caught up in helping out some of the families that had hired him early on, and hadn't yet found a chance to tell them he was going to be starting a new job. He'd also been exhausted his time at the Welcome Center, and rather than crash at Cloud's place when he wasn't going to be contributing to Cloud's business, he'd found a room nearby that he could rent on a weekly basis.
No more, though, he told himself as he headed to his next job. He was done doing odd jobs and living with strangers after this week. He'd give Cloud a call and let him know he was ready to move in. He just wanted to be sure Mrs. Sheffield had run out of work for him to do in her yard. She really shouldn't be out putting up a fence with her arthritis, and Zack knew he'd have one heck of a time convincing her of that if he left her employ before building that fence himself.
