Rose didn't waver. In fact, her eyes narrowed slightly, dissatisfied with his answer. “She bumped into us. That makes it our business.”
She was of the mind that sometimes, even when it looked like you weren't wanted, you needed to interfere. There were numerous explanations for her behavior, of course. It could have been just some sorta odd mistake. She might have even had too much to drink and therefore just needed someone to call her a cab so she could get home safely. But they couldn't possibly know for sure until they checked.
“Look,” said Rose, softening slightly.“I jus' wanna make sure she's okay. Then,” she grinned, “soda. Mountain Dew, yeah? But first. . .” She tilted her head toward where the woman disappeared to and backed up a step. “Just a quick check.”
