"The what?" Magneto was bad enough, though growing on him. Awkward alliteration aside, he and Lorna had only just met when she'd arrived at the school. She'd come up with that nickname quickly and sounded confident in it, despite having never really seen him use his powers.

When was the last time he'd really used them? Shaw's submarine, and he'd almost died. He knew he was capable of more-- but not with Lorna around. Even as he moved his hand to tear the bent disc in half he could feel something odd spark between them. It was possible that her repelling theory hadn't been too far off.

"It's more frustrating than anything else," he finally answered her, thinking once again about Shaw's submarine and his failure to stop it. "Knowing that you have the power of one of the most powerful forces on earth at your fingertips and not being able to fully harness it. I said I wasn't arrogant enough to think I could, not that I don't want to. The key is to take the reigns away from your emotions. I'm sure when you're upset the largest piece of metal moves like a feather for you, but try again once you've calmed down and you might pass out trying. But that shouldn't be the only way. There's a switch up there," Erik gestured to her head. "You have to find yours."
