Who: Sheldon Cooper and Idris What: Sheldon is out exploring his creation! When: Monday afternoon Where: Streets of NYC Warnings: None
Doctor Cooper had finally emerged from his protected tower in the sky to mingle amongst the little people. Well, truth be told, he was far more diminutive than most of them, but Sheldon had never been one to measure in physical size when it was brain power that mattered. He had more crevices in his brain than anyone he was passing on this street-- maybe a few more psychotic tendencies too, because he was the only one walking down the street wearing a Star Trek uniform and pointed ears. It was 1964 and Star Trek wouldn't premiere for another two years, but Sheldon was less concerned with upsetting the Time Space Continuum (the very existence of this place already did that) than he was with making sure that everyone called him Lieutenant Commander Spock.
It was frustrating that he couldn't share these experiences with any of his friends, but this was the burden he had to bear. Leonard was his best friend (or, the person who would put up with him for the longest) and while he would have loved to brag about discovering an alternate universe that he could alter to his every whim, telling Leonard would ruin it. Because Leonard would tell Koothrappali, and Koothrappali would tell Howard, and then Leonard would get all moon faced over Penny while Howard was telling Koothrappali and tell her.
And then the entire damned place would be filled with My Little Ponies, or some other nonsense considered entertaining by those who considered high school calculus challenging.
So Sheldon explored by himself without his friends and only his tricorder to keep him company. It didn't actually do anything but make the occasional beeping noise, but if this wasn't the way to explore a brave new world, then Sheldon didn't know what was. He thrust his hand out in front of him and listened for the beep of his toy collectible tricorder. Beeping meant an apporpriate spot to have Wesley Crusher fall (repeatedly, perhaps on a daily basis) to his death.
